Canvas chair vs. Luxury Stadium Seat

Upgrade your stadium experience with padded luxury seats, leave canvas behind

As a parent or dedicated fan, we have all sat wiggling in the bleachers, staring at the game clock in hopes our discomfort will soon be over. You have probably used every trick in the book to upgrade your comfort, dragging blankets into a stadium, single cushions that look like gardening mats, or the heavy metal framed canvas seat, only to discover the backrest has fallen off somewhere along the way.

As a parent of D1 and professional athletes, I can honestly say, I have been there and done that. You wouldn't think about missing the game, but after a long day of work, standing on your feet, back aching, you would do anything to improve the comfort of the bleachers.

Traditional Canvas Seats vs. Luxury Stadium Seats

The canvas folding seat, while a better solution than hauling blankets into a stadium, has some limitations compared to the new luxury seating options. Canvas seats, as the name suggests, are made from traditional canvas material which absorbs water. The chair design is canvas material stretched between a metal frame which allows the canvas to further stretch under normal use. The seat size is limited to about 15 inches before one's hips are resting on metal framing. The backrest, also made of canvas, once stretched will often fall off the chair frame when carrying the chair.  The chair design lacks armrest and folds in half which requires one to carry the chair with their hands unless additional shoulder strapping is purchased.  When used in an open bleacher setting, the chair has the ability to slide off and fall between the bleachers.

Luxury Stadium Seat Designs

The new luxury stadium seat design, https://alphastadiumseats.com/collections/all, makes the canvas seat look antiquated. Focusing only on the design aspects, the luxury seats provide three inches of padding throughout the chair. The chair is constructed of weatherproof, nylon-based material that sheds water, keeping the seat dry during adverse weather conditions.  Seat size can be 20 and 26 inches providing for adult comfort. Armrests are standard, but the design does use a reverse elbow that can be activated to eliminate the armrest if desired. Chair has built-in backpack straps for easy, hands free carrying. Chair lies flat when storing and carrying.

Luxury Features beyond Imagination

Beyond the design features lies the luxury of the stadium chairs.  The backrest boasts 3 modes of massage. The seat features 3 levels of heat: low, medium and high. Both features are run by a 10,000 MAH battery pack, which should be included with the chair. The chair provides a safety strap to secure the seat to an open bleacher. If only 1 feature is running on the battery, the USB output of the battery can charge a phone - added benefit.

While similar chairs can be found in big box stores, few, if any, provide the luxury features.  Most of the big box stores offer the padded folding chairs with armrest, but the backrest massage and heated seat features are unique to only a few manufacturers.
